NJRC Projects and Services
To provide our communities with the support they need, the NJRC maintains a wide
variety of projects and services. Each of these is designed either to connect the
communities to each other, so that they can efficiently share resources and information,
or to help connect interested newcomers to a Jewish Renewal community or program in their
area.
Or HaDor
Our international newsletter features
articles and community news, innovative liturgy and practices, original art and
literature, regional events and programs, and rabbinic commentary. Or HaDor is sent directly to the NJRC community members.
E-mail listserver
Starting in December 1998 all community representatives will be linked together via
e-mail listserver to discuss board, community, finance and leadership challenges.
Community webpages
Each member community in-good-standing will have an individual webpage linked to the
NJRC website and/or a link to their community website.
NJRC Education Resource Book
NJRC is currently compiling educational curriculum materials from Network communities
and leadership around the world which will be distributed to all NJRC member communities
in 1999. For more information see Education.
Conference Calling
Allows community representative to
discuss their community's accomplishments and concerns in "real time" with each
other.
Educational Curriculum Development
We facilitate the exchange of
educational materials between congregations and have begun a series of "educators'
gatherings" to bring together those interested in designing new curricula and
approaches. Thanks to a grant from the Shefa Fund, we hosted the first NJRC Education
Conference in the Bay Area over the 1998 Memorial Day weekend. Visit the Education pages
for the most up-to-date information on this ongoing project.
Organizational Resources Collection
An archive of the
"practical" materials that our groups have generated in the course of building
their organizations: contracts, by-laws, membership guidelines, organizational charts,
board "job descriptions," fund raising campaign letters, advertising and
promotional materials, vision/mission statements. Members can access this collection for
ideas and models when faced with a similar need.
Liturgy Library
We originally started this project to
collect siddurim and machzorim. Since that time, it's been expanded to include original
rituals (like Tu B'Shevat seders, Rosh Chodesh ceremonies, Selichot services, or
baby-naming's) as well as other "service/event related" materials (Purim
skits/spiels, Chanukkah programming, bibliodramas). This allows our members to share their
liturgy and provide models/start-up materials for new communities. Liturgy

New Community Packets
An NJRC resource packet of materials,
designed to help new/prospective havurot get up and running. The Network of Jewish Renewal
Communities also provides coaching and mentoring, both directly and through connecting new
groups to established NJRC congregations for guidance and support.
Community Directory
A description of the NJRC communities
and their staff, programs, products, and services, which will be mailed to all our groups.
Directory information will also be accessible on the Internet through our web site.
Networking Intensive
Our post-Kallah information and
resources exchange program for congregational representatives. Its purpose was to provide
our va'ads/councils/boards with the practical logistical and administrative support they
need.
Calendar of Events
We maintain a calendar of Jewish
Renewal events (workshops, concerts, retreats, shabbatons, etc.) going on nationally. Any
JR teacher or group may send us information to be listed. Calendar of
Events
NJRC website www.jewishrenewal.org
Our new website features the most up-to-date NJRC community list, network news, a calendar
of upcoming events, and a wide assortment of resource materials.
