Eli, Eli, Eli, why did You forsake me_
I cry by day and night
Am burdened by my plight.
Why don't You answer when I cry_
Ana Adonai_
Our parents trusted You
They found You good and true
Why did You push me far
Why don't You answer when I cry_

All those who see me mock me
All the thugs attack me
They hurt others too
Are not afraid of You.
Why don't you answer when I cry_
Ana Adonai!
You do not hold Your anger
You will not scorn us longer
All the world's peoples
You will treat as equals.
You do answer when we cry
Barukh Adonai!
